Europa Uomo organises open AS event

Europa Uomo will be holding its first international webinar on active surveillance this month, exploring patient experience and what research tells us about its benefits and limitations.

Speakers at the online event, which is open to everyone, include: Hein Van Poppel, Adjunct Secretary General of the European Association of Urology; Monique Roobol, Professor of Decision Making in Urology at Erasmus Medical Centre, the Netherlands: and Cosimo Pieri, who has personal experience of active surveillance (AS).

“For more than 10 years, Europa Uomo has been committed to supporting men with reliable information on prostate pathologies, early diagnosis, multidisciplinary approaches and quality of life,” says Cosimo Pieri, who is a Europa Uomo Board member and is organising the event.

“With this and follow-up webinars we want to give a basic introduction to the strategy of active surveillance, provide an idea of patient journeys and an indication of where to find accurate and detailed information.” Two further webinars are planned.

The event, entitled “Active Surveillance: looking for quality of life after diagnosis of low grade prostate cancer” will be held on 20th April at 1800 CET. Book the date in your diary and join via Zoom https://zoom.us/j/99225202986?pwd=VEFzZGd3NFppM2JhNUxZQ1BFZUFiZz09
