Europa Uomo’s member organisation in Latvia has held a successful meeting with the Ministry of Health
The Latvian Prostate Cancer Association (Europa Uomo Latvia) and the Alliance for Men's Health in Latvia continue to promote the importance of preventive health care, support men's self-help groups and assist men after radical prostatectomy and testicular cancer, writes Eriks Mikelsteins, Chairman of the association
On 30th April, the two organisations met with the Latvian Government's Minister of Health, Hosam Abu Meri, along with the Ministry's Parliamentary Secretary and Director of Health. The focus for the day's meeting was increased funding for men's health care after surgery and during recovery.
The Latvian Prostate Cancer Association, soon to be officially renamed Europa Uomo Latvia, and the Alliance for Men's Health unanimously support the Ministry of Health’s intention to cover the cost of penile implants and injections to restore erectile function after surgery for prostate cancer. It also aims to support the cost of testicular implants after radical testicular surgery.
Europa Uomo Latvia and the Alliance of Men's Health will continue to invite interested organisations to actively promote health and wellbeing. By working together we continue to be the bridge between the patient and the government.
