Prostate cancer ‘chatbot’ will be promoted at European Association of Urology Congress

Europa Uomo’s artificial-intelligence-powered online assistant, run in collaboration with the European Association of Urology (EAU), has been upgraded to make it make it more “human” in its responses to questions about prostate cancer.

The automated online assistant, commonly known as a “chatbot”, can be accessed through the Europa Uomo website, just by clicking on the blue speech bubble at the bottom right corner of each page. It will answer any question related to prostate cancer, in any language, based on EAU guidelines and other authoritative sources. It will also engage in conversation.

Since its launch in June last year, the online assistant has answered questions from thousands of people across Europe. Now its developers Devincoo, a Swedish AI company, have upgraded it so that it is more empathetic and supportive when responding to questions. It asks more follow-up questions. And its tone is more natural in languages other than English.

“The chatbot performed extremely well from the moment we launched it,” says Europa Uomo Chairman Guenther Carl. “Now we’re seeing improvements that make it even more impressive. I do encourage people to try it and I hope our member organisations will continue to publicise it widely.”

Europa Uomo and the European Association of Urology will be promoting the prostate cancer online assistant at the EAU Congress in Madrid from 21st to 24th March.

You can access it only via the Europa Uomo website. Just click on the blue speech bubble logo in the bottom right corner of the screen, then type in a question in your own language. The online assistant will respond in the same language.
