Europa Uomo’s member organisations organise distanced events

Europa Uomo member organisations are marking Movember and the run-up to European Prostate Cancer Awareness Day with a range of online initiatives ideally suited to current COVID times. Awareness-raising projects using podcasts, webinars and web conferences are all in full flow.

In Portugal, the Associação Portuguesa de Doentes da Próstata (ADP) is issuing a weekly podcast for patients and the general public. The podcasts include 24 well-known Portuguese singers, actors, journalists and TV stars talking about the experience of being a man and about prostate problems. The main presenter is comedian and TV presenter Rui Unas, who also made a video trailer for the podcast (pictured).

“The name of the series is 'Make Yourself A MAN!'," says  Joaquim Da Cruz Domingos of APD. “So far it is a great success.”

In Italy, Europa Uomo Italia Onlus supported a national webinar on prostate cancer and men’s health organised by the Italian newspaper Corriere della Serra and organised a prevention campaign event on Facebook.

In Spain, the Asociación de Cáncer de Próstata (ANCAP) has planned a Zoom videoconference on 19th November entitled: “Movember: how to live with prostate cancer and COVID-19”.
