Running event highlights importance of early detection
A road race event in Athens, Greece, has raised awareness about the early diagnosis of prostate cancer.
More than 600 runners took part in 5km and a 10km races, held at the National Technical University of Athens. Europa Uomo Hellas – the Greek prostate patients organisation newly admitted to Europa Uomo this year – was there to highlight the importance of prostate cancer screening and the critical role that early detection plays in effective management of the disease.
“The event was honoured by the presence of the Mayor of Athens, along with several municipal councillors,” says Dimitris Deligiannidis, President of Europa Uomo Hellas.
“A special highlight of the event was the presence of Ioannis Vanezos, who officially represented Europa Uomo, reinforcing the message and impact of the occasion.”
