Europa Uomo Hellas at Greece Race for the Cure 2025

For the first time, the Hellenic Prostate Cancer Association – Europa Uomo Hellas – participated with its own booth at the major awareness and prevention event Greece Race for the Cure 2025. This was organised by Alma Zois (with the approval of  Think Pink Europe®) at Zappeion on 27 and 28 September.

The association’s participation in such a prestigious international initiative, dedicated primarily to breast cancer but also to cancer prevention as a whole, carried special significance. Thousands of visitors – men and women of all ages – had the opportunity to be informed through printed material and personal interaction at the booth about:

  • the importance of prevention and early diagnosis of prostate cancer
  • the modern therapeutic options available today
  • the value of information and an active approach to one’s health.

Special mention was made of the vital role of women, who often encourage husbands, fathers, brothers or friends to undergo preventive examinations. Their involvement proves critical in shaping a culture of prevention and timely intervention.

The President of the Association, Dimitris Deligiannidis, said:

“It was a great pleasure for us to participate for the first time with our own booth in such an important event, which brings together tens of thousands of our fellow citizens every year in an institutional race with a profound social impact. We warmly thank Alma Zois and its President, Paraskevi Michalopoulou, for giving us the opportunity to highlight the importance of prevention for a form of cancer that affects more and more men. The public’s response – and especially that of women, whom we consider invaluable allies in spreading knowledge and promoting prevention – was encouraging and gives us the momentum to further intensify our outreach activities in the near future.”

The Association’s participation in Greece Race for the Cure 2025 was supported by Bayer.
