Report of the European Cancer Summit 2022
During the European Cancer Summit 2022, held on 16th and 17th November, a Lancet Oncology Commission European Groundshot initiative was launched, with 12 evidence-based recommendations. They provide a roadmap to achieving a 70% average survival rate for all cancer patients in Europe by 2035.
Likewise, the European Cancer Pulse, also launched this year, is an innovative and interactive data visualisation tool tracking inequalities in cancer.

Oncologists encounter fear of cancer recurrence
Our own communications advisor, Simon Crompton, has written an article for Cancerworld entitled “What do you say when your patient can’t stop worrying about recurrence?” based on a survey which showed that cancer clinicians regularly encounter fear of cancer recurrence, but usually leave it to their patients to raise the subject.

AnCan, the Answer Cancer Foundation, is holding a free webinar entitled “Invasion of the Prostate Snatchers: 13 years later” on 30th January. Dr Mark Scholz” will be taking a look at how things have progressed in 13 years with prostate cancer, where they need to change, and where things are headed.

Survey for health app users
Label2Enable is a Horizon Europe project which aims to support the development and implementation of an EU quality label for health and wellness apps. It has launched a survey for European patients, informal caregivers and citizens, aiming to gain understanding of health app use, adoption, trust and preferences across the European Union.
The survey is anonymous, available in 26 languages, consists of 11 questions, and takes approximately five minutes to complete.
